Good afternoon Visual Arts parents, students and supporters! A few updates, reminders and announcements for the week of March 25.

Congratulations to the 39 BTW students named finalists in this year's Young American Talent. There were more than 1,300 submissions and 165 pieces were chosen. The exhibit will be on display May 6-18. The reception and awards ceremony is Thursday, May 9 from 6-8 p.m. We will need volunteers on Saturday, May 4 when students drop off artwork. We will also need volunteers May 4-8 to help hang the exhibit. If you can help, please email YAT Committee Chair Kay Wood.

The PTSA Summer Scholarships program is now open. Eligible students in 9-11th grade can receive a $500 scholarship toward an academic or conservatory program. Check the PTSA website for eligibility requirements, dates and other details or email

The final senior show of the school year will be on exhibit from April 2-26 in the Hudson Gallery. The opening reception is from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18. Volunteers are needed to help serve refreshments.

  • The Visual Arts Senior Dinner will be Tuesday, May 21 in the Hudson Gallery. Invitations will be sent the week of April 1. We're asking parents, guardians and students to share photos for the senior slideshow. Upload your photos before Sunday, May 19. Parents - please send a baby photo of your student. Please label your uploads with your student's name so we can properly attribute the photos.
  • Can you design a Pegasus logo? The Senior Activities Committee is looking for a Pegasus logo to feature on the Baccalaureate program. Submit your design by March 31. (Seniors only please.)
  • The Visual Arts Scholarship application will open April 2. To be eligible, either the student or a parent/guardian must be guild members. Contact us to confirm your membership and look for the online application on April 2.

HELP NEEDED! Several of our students particpate in the annual Scrap Can Be Beautiful contest and exhibit. This year we need several volunteers to help load the student artwork for delivery to the contest on Tuesday, April 2. We will load the art at the school at 8:30 a.m. Please email if you can help. Many hands make light work!!!

Volunteer on I Am Booker T Day

I Am Booker T Day is Saturday, April 13. We'll be welcoming our incoming students, and selling memberships and merchandise. Volunteers are needed from 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. to help set up, sell, answer questions, and clean up. Parents and students are encouraged to volunteer. It's a fun, fast-paced day and we need all hands on deck. Thank you!
