Good evening Visual Arts parents, students and supporters!

Some quick news and updates for the week of May 13.

DATES AND REMINDERS

Tuesday, May 14 is the final PTSA meeting of the school year at 6 p.m. in the Commons. The Visual Arts Guild will not have a May meeting.

Saturday, June 8 is our first guild summer social from 2-4 p.m. We hope all our parents/guardians will attend to meet other parents and learn more about the 2024-25 school year. We'll send more details soon.

Look for more info on our June 8 social!
PEGASUS PICK UP FOR 2024-25

Pegasus Pick Up is Booker T's version of registration. At Pegasus Pick Up students and families can pick up schedules, pay for lockers and parking spaces, order yearbooks, take ID photos and senior headshots, join the PTSA and guilds, and purchase merchandise. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend with the student. Incoming 9th grade students are scheduled on Monday, July 29. Rising sophomores and juniors are Tuesday, July 30, and rising seniors are Wednesday, July 31. We'll provide more information on what to expect at Pegasus Pick Up over the summer.

ORDER YOUR MERCH BEFORE MAY 17

The Visual Arts Guild online store will close for the summer. If you want to order merch before the break, please order by May 17. We will open again at Pegasus Pick Up, July 29-31.

RENEW YOUR SPONSORSHIP

Current members, we hope you'll renew your membership in the guild for the 2024-25 school year. All our members receive our weekly newsletter, but with a sponsorship (starting at just $25), you'll have access to the online directory, receive guild merch, and your student will be eligible for a $150 Visual Arts grant and the $1,500 senior scholarship.

As a reminder, we do not have ticketed events so sponsorships provide the majority of funding for the receptions and events we host, the grants and scholarships we award, and the support we provide our faculty. Every dollar you contribute directly benefits our students and faculty.

BECOME A SUSTAINING SPONSOR

If you or someone you know is interested in a sustaining sponsorship, you can refer to the Visual Arts Guild website for details or email btwvisualarts@gmail.com. Our sustaining sponsors receive a variety of perks and promotion at our events in exchange for their sponsorship.

YOUNG AMERICAN TALENT

For 33 years, we have hosted Young American Talent, welcoming North Texas students to BTW for an exhibit, reception and awards ceremony. The exhibit runs through May 18 in the Hudson Gallery and the reception and awards ceremony were Thursday, May 9.

Thank you to committee chair Kay Wood and volunteers Marie-Louise Van Hummel, Gina Pavon, Christy Black, Jodi Carlton and Britt Piburn for making this another amazing year.

If you haven't seen the exhibit or didn't make the reception, you can follow Young American Talent on Instagram as winners continue to be announced.
