Hello Visual Arts Guild!

We are excited to welcome everyone back!

On Monday, August 14 all Visual Arts students will report to the Commons (student cafeteria on the Zero Floor) first. Monday will be an A-Day.

You can find additional first-day reminders and suggestions on the PTSA website.

JOIN BEFORE AUGUST 25

Everyone who joins the guild and the PTSA before August 25 is eligible for the Pegasus raffle prize - four vouchers for Hairspray tickets and concessions, parking, merch, and a $100 gift card to the Playwright Pub. The winner will be announced at the August 29 PTSA meeting.

FRESHMAN FYI RECAP

Thank you to everyone who joined our Freshman FYI. We had a great turnout of parents, students, graduates and faculty. If you weren't able to attend or want a summary, you can download a recap of the meeting. If you have additional questions, email btwvisualarts@gmail.com.

FIRST GUILD MEETING

Our first Visual Arts Guild meeting is Tuesday, August 29 following the PTSA meeting. The PTSA meets at 6 p.m. in the BTW Commons. We'll meet immediately following. We don't need to meet every month so we will alternate our guild meetings with socials. Our membership and social committees are working on some unique and fun meeting alternatives. Stay tuned for details.

STUDIO SELECTIONS

The first exhibit of the year is Studio Selections. It will run from September 5-29. The opening reception is Friday, September 8 from 5-7 p.m. in the Hudson Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public so invite your friends and family. We'll also need volunteers to help set up, serve, host and clean up. There is a performance of Hairspray that night at 7 p.m. so come for the reception and stay for the show!

SENIOR HEADSHOTS INFO AND MAKEUPS

Seniors - if you weren't able to get your headshot during Pegasus Pick Up on August 2, you can schedule a makeup on Tuesday, August 22. You can prepay the $15 or pay in person with cash, check or card.

THANK YOU to Nicki Behm Photography for the session on August 2! After the August 22 makeups, she will provide an online gallery where the student can choose the photo for the senior wall and purchase additional photographs. Each student will get ONE digital photograph as part of the $15 fee. Nicki specializes in senior photos so if you are looking for a photographer, visit the website for her gallery and additional information.

JOIN A COMMITTEE

Thank you to all the parents, guardians and students who have signed up to volunteer during the 23-24 school year. If you are interested in joining or leading a fundraising or sponsorship committee, please let us know. We have several connections with local businesses, artists and community members, and would love someone to lead our efforts to cement these collaborations. Email us at btwvisualarts@gmail.com for the details!
